Why this exists
Uri was not a one-off kind of lesson.
Texans remember the frozen pipes, spoiled food, hotel bills, and workdays lost during Winter Storm Uri. Heat domes and cold snaps keep putting the grid back in the group chat. Stress is no longer a rare feature of Texas life.
GridCheck is being built by a 20-year commodity and risk markets veteran who brokered ERCOT power. The idea is plain: when the grid has a bad day, your wallet should get a little help.
